Well here it is the middle.....no...... almost end of July. It has been a very wet July, which I don't really mind. I hope we get some good weather soon though as I'd like to go camping next week sometime. So fingers crossed and no rain dancing please anyone with in 500 miles of me!!

I ordered some alcohol inks one day on the spur of the moment. What fun it is experimenting with these. I had no clue really what to do with them so hadn't ordered any alcohol extender stuff. Well I can't wait to try something when I get it so I started experimenting with different alcohol based products that I have in my home. I ended up using my cheapo hairspray up and need to buy more now. (for my art work not the hair) Here are some examples of what the finished works look like.

PHAP and such

Sitting here this morning before work it occurred to me that Every artist at the PHAP meeting (more about that later) said "I would do this differently next time" or "I learned this when I made that" at least once during the evening. Art is such a learning experience. Maybe that's why I enjoy it so much, I love to learn. Student seems to be one of my main life themes, even if I haven't spent much time in a classroom. Life has been my teacher and I try to be a good student.

Anyway back to my PHAp group .........we art the ***Pointy Hat Art Posse*******<{:D,
altering life so that it is ever so much more fun! This is a group for artists of all sorts in Edmonton Alberta Canada. We do alter things often and are thinking about doing a group project.......maybe as a thank you for the owner of Lexxies Latte where the meetings are held. I actually have a trio of items to alter which may just have to lay around the studio for abit so I get the feel for them. Meeting with others of the creative mindset is a great inspiration. Learning from one another, sharing, trading atcs(Yippee) and just generaly playing has given me added creative energy. I feel blessed to have found this group and just know we will continue to grow and spread the creative energy to others. Look out a chapter of PHAPS may invade your neighbourhood yet!!

Thoughts feelings and desires. I was thinking about those this morning while waking up enough to go to work. I wake up at the computer with my coffee every morning. I can read the news, (for free) catch up with friends, (crucial to my well being) and get my dose of calm before the storm they call my job.

Anyway I was thinking about Desires and how mine have changed since Kyle died.

Now all I truly desire that I don't have is some job satisfaction. I intend to continue focusing on that and my need to find a creative job. Things are already happening in that direction if you look at the voluntering I plan on doing in the fall. ( I am teaching a kids altered art/atc class at the library here as well as doing a workshop on altered art for a grieving parents group).
Sooo in all this rambling I guess my point is that I am already doing what I desire..............lol just not as often as I would like (time to stop whining and start being joyful)

I really do try to live my life .......Full of art.
As a member of PHAP (pointy hat art posse) it is my duty

Joy was captured, briefly in the picture of me that I used on my "Party Girl" atc. I do feel it often these days. Though today it feels far away. I am feeling rather low today and know I need to get out of the house. But as one of my best friends would say "I hate to inflict myself on anyone today" Now how is that for negative thinking? Been working lots lately so not able to create as often but I have started Gessoing a board book to do. I want to try Jonathan Talbots method for collage but will have to experiment as I can not find release paper where I live. After doing my previous collage I ran out of wax so off I went for a drive in the country to the Honey farm. What a wonderful spring day it was too. This piece garden is made with this fresh wax. It is a little bumpy for my liking so I think I need to keep my eye open for a little traveling iron or something.

This is a beeswax collage I did this morning on some mat board. I just bought myself a little pouporri melter (mini crockpot) So was could hardly wait to try using the wax and painting it on. I like the way it turned out.

Well here it is another great spring day.
I spent the day yesterday creating atcs again, but still managed to make it look like I had done hours of housework >Grins<

Here's my 5 minute poem

Words flew through the air that spring day.

It was may 6th 1945

Susan typed though her fingers were aching

French birds sound just like those at home

she thought

Her fingers made constant

amendments and changes

I am here until this is sorted she thought

Well here it is the middle of the week. Monday night was the monthly meeting of the newly named "pointy hat art posse" We are a fierce lot who go after what we want in life. We all love art and it looks to me like we all walk the walk as well as talking the talk. To be fierce you must go after what you want in life, be strong not afraid to be different. I am posting a soul-collage cardI did last night. Inspired not only by the image the card is built around, but the spirit of my new posse .
